Gotta Love It – Saturday Spa Day
The mom-in-law gets into town tomorrow afternoon, and today is all about relaxing, cleaning, and getting pretty to meet little man (of course I want to make the best first impression possible). It’s crazy to think that any day/night that comes my way may be my last sans dependant. I’m pretty excited for the moment when I know it’s all really happening, and baby boy is en route to the outside world.
The man has been spoiling me in the meantime, coming home with macarons, iced coffee (you know you have spring fever when you crave these in sub-zero temperatures), chocolate favourites, and salt caramel chews. Did what I feel is my last outside world errand run yesterday, and cashed in on my recycling at LUSH and MAC (got a pretty new lippy hue named Blankety). I’m dying my locks as I type this, jumping in the shower shortly for a Persian clay all-over body scrub, getting a hair trim courtesy of the man once he gets home (you’d be surprised as to how good he is at this), and finally treating myself to a mani/pedi while I face mask it up.
My game plan come labour is to sleep as much as possible before contractions get too distracting, finish packing the loose odds and ends that need to go in my hospital bag, and to do my makeup while still at home (should this be a possibility). Why put on my face when it will most likely get ruined throughout the process? When I have my makeup on, I feel pulled together. Beauty is strength babes!
On a cleaning note, last week I bought up the entire range of Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products in Lavender and Lemon Verbena. Sounds funny, but using these while I go about my spa indulgences only adds to the experience (aromatherapy with the added bonus of a clean living space at the end of it all).
It’s Saturday night! What are your sexy plans? The man and I will be enjoying a shut-in night just us two (one of our last!).
