KLiiK Denmark Giveaway & Disconnect
I feel a huge disconnect from my blog lately. It’s not that I don’t want to write and post. It’s not even that I have nothing to publish. I feel like I’ve been stuck in this lingo of hesitation for too long. Posting. Not posting. Letting time escape me.
Truth is, I’ve never been happier. I don’t know if I’ve found the perfect formula to true blog/social media enjoyment, or if I’m letting it all slip away. Either way, I’m indifferent. I’m enjoying my realtime happenings and non-documented moments too much to try and capture every single one of them. Now, instead of snapping something for instagram, I relish knowing that I will only see it once – that I can be greedy and keep it all to myself as a mere memory (sans photo or video entrapment). It’s very liberating, even though I know days like these are numbered.
The truth is, I want nothing more than to be a student of life and submerge myself in the new and un-encountered. I just have to find it. My brain feels numb with the recycling of content I experience every day as an online onlooker. It gets boring. It gives me headaches. Routine seems to have a way of enveloping your ambitions and taming them with fatigue.
Enough of being a downer!
You like our antique stained glass find? The man brought it home alongside a gorgeous 70′s Quebecois painting of two little girls (below). Stained glass always makes me think of my grandmother. I remember the day she bought one of a tulip and we came in to see it hanging from the window in front of the dining room table (where it still remains). When the light reflects the colors on the floor and furniture in the afternoon, there’s nothing more homey.
Speaking of homey, I’ve totally been nesting as of late. Extensive oil/bubble baths, homemade cooking (I’ve been experimenting with Gwenyth Paltrow’s It’s All Good cookbook – a real gem), and downtime with my main squeeze. Sacred family time. Hiding under the covers and dozing off in each other’s arms during thunder storms with the windows open. Bliss.
I’m all out of sync, hibernating in the spring after being active all winter.
(Option 1: Forever Hipster)
Now getting to the giveaway within this post! KLiiK Denmark is a (unisex!) Euro-cool brand of eyewear that offered me (and possibly you too) a pair of their current season’s frames. For those of you who don’t know, I’m pretty much useless without my glasses (even though I don’t generally wear them outside of home or work). I am near sighted and can’t make out distant details if my life depends on it (I can’t make out people’s faces from across the street). I’m due for a new prescription and check up soon, but in the meantime, I need you to help me choose which pair of frames I should keep!
How do you enter to win a pair of frames (prescription not included) of your choosing from the KLiiK 2013 collection?
Drop a comment in the form below and let me know which ones you prefer on me (the hipster tortoiseshell ones, or the sleek black classic ones)!
I will draw a winner at random in two week’s time (June 7th, 2013).
Whoever gets picked will be contacted by KLiiK to choose a style from their current frame guide – just like that giving you a new pair of glasses (of up to a $300 value)!
Don’t wear prescription glasses? Pick a pair that will express your inner Geek-chic as a wardrobe accessory staple, or bring your new beauties to the optometrist and get creative by turning them into a customized pair of sunnies. Oh the ideas…
Curious about their styles? Browse their facebook fanpage album to weigh your favorite frame options.
Notre Dame art finds by the man… we often joke that Ryan Gosling’s “Hey Girl” memes and Notebook character/relationship have nothing on us. Antiquing together? Entry level stuff. Up your game Gosling.
(Option 2: Classic Creative)
Look at beautiful mama and lady Rose (and sunbathing photo bomber)!
I can’t stop eating these. Even the Neal Brother’s twitter manager told me I needed to switch my pretzel options up. I refuse. Long live honey mustard.
The man has been experimenting with sketching and painting lately (I love his stuff). How cool is it to come home to delights like this highly intelligent-looking smoking man? He’s actually a jazz pianist, but I don’t remember his name. His work is gorgeous.
Here’s daddy cool grandpa for you, enjoying a lemonade in the sunshine.
So what’s it gonna be for me? Forever Hipster (top middle), or Classic Creative (bottom left)?
If I’m totally honest with you, I’m kinda leaning towards the minimalistic black frames… what do you think?
Have a beautiful weekend (and good luck)!
