514 Beauty Post – Red & Blue Basics
Welcome to Monday! I must admit, this morning did not have me inspired (producing a back-to-bed result that I only just recently woke from). With the continued lagging headspace, the day will be one that drags on I’m sure (while I scurry to catch up!). Today plans on creating homemade shepherd’s pie, washing the pup, and embarking on an hour long walk. I’m hoping a hot black tea and shower will shake me from my current stance.
Got some beauty mail from Marcelle last week that I excitedly dipped into (time to share)! A great cleanser that leaves my skin looking like it’s still wearing makeup even when bare, ink – for your brows (admittedly, this product was very intimidating to try at first), a brand spanking new growth mascara, and a beautifully rich hue of blue liner that liquid lovers alike will love.
Lets rewind to that eyebrow ink for a minute (mostly because, before getting it – I’d never heard of such a thing). Gel, yes, you can blend it. Powder, I love. Wax, great hold. But ink? As in liquid liner for your brows? Wouldn’t that be too harsh? To defined? To “permanent/tattoo” looking? Then I thought about beauty inspiration I previously posted (scroll down to last look). Ok, yes. For this effect, a pen could absolutely work. But how would that translate in daylight? I’m not the girl who wants her brows to be the main point of focus on her face. To my testing delight, ink is blendable (and surprisingly natural looking when you keep the shade light)! I’ve actually grown quite fond of it, and thrown it into my rotation (moral of the story – don’t be afraid of switching up what you’re used to using, you may be pleasantly surprised).
Mascara separates beautifully (I’ll keep you posted if I notice any additional growth as a result of using it), and liner stays put (even though it comes with a built-in smudge stick, ready to play with).
Canadian beauty brands not only make me incredibly proud, but they’re really stepping their game up on the international market. It’s all about innovation, and we’re delivering it with quality at competitive price points (props). Keep it up and they’ve got a lifelong fan in me.
