Currently Coveting – Christopher Shannon & Color Bug Hair
It’s Saturday night, and if a really amazing 70′s disco dance club existed here in Montreal, you bet I’d be there groovin’ (does listening to iTunes Disco Ball radio count?). Makes me wonder if there are any Studio 54-esque similars in New York anymore (if you have recommendations, please share!). I’ve been stuck in retro happy-music-lounge-land lately, embracing both the classics and newer fusions (Jamiroquai). I love how lighthearted and fun everything sounds. I can’t help but catch myself busting surprisingly random moves as the songs roll on…
Call it my overtaking obsession with all things carefree and dramatically youthful, but when I came across the beauty look for the Christopher Shannon 2014 menswear show, my jaw dropped. These backstage shots taken by Dirk Alexander for V Magazine showcase some splendidly glittering man coifs (you can recreate them with this tutorial, straight from the hair crew who originally mastered them). The gorgeous hues got me thinking about my love for the wonderfully temporary effects of hair chalk. While I applaud the many DIY art store how-to’s that exist out there, I’m a snob for salon created products tailored to the task at hand (with hair damage control and design-savvy product packaging in mind).
I think I need to get my Color Bug on (in white)… have you tried it? Thoughts?
Whatever you’re up to tonight (be it staying in or going out despite the rain), infuse with according shine…
P.S. If you’re at home and bored (and are an entrepreneur who hasn’t yet mastered the art of charging what you’re worth), this free e-book Breaking The Time Barrier by Mike McDerment is an insightful (less than hour) read. Perfect business bedtime story.Posted under Beauty, cosmetics, designer, fashion, fashion show, makeup, Packaging, trend, Uncategorized by Robyn
