Currently Coveting – Lush Cleansers

I’m all about good scrubby cleansers.  Lush happens to be one of my go-to faves for sampling and experimenting with my daily regime (I’m the kind of gal who likes to mix it up).  Right now I’m all about the Dark Angels charcoal scrub, but the slew of otherworldly options below make it near impossible not to stray.  What’s great is that Lush is friendly with the samples, so when I hop in to pick up one of their fresh face masks, I get sent home with a few washes worth of anticipated cleanser.  Because I have a special soft spot for product descriptions (I used to recite them in the shower as a kid), behold a few to pique your curiosity…

“For heavenly soft and balanced skin, take a smidge of Angels on Bare Skin, mix with a little water and massage in. The kaolin clay base deep cleanses while ground almonds gently exfoliate the dead skin away. Rose and lavender are added to soothe and help balance out combination skin. It’s our best selling preservative-free and packaging-free daily cleanser for all skin types, so if you don’t know which cleanser to choose and it’s heavenly skin you’re after, start with Angels.”

“Fans of Angels on Bare Skin will love this holiday take on our best-selling classic facial cleanser. Lovely on all skin types, Buche de Noel is the cleanser that’s good enough to eat (although we don’t recommend it). Named for the French dessert, ours is loaded with fresh ingredients for glowing skin- sorry, no buttercream here! Ground almonds gently exfoliate away rough skin while softening almond oil and nutrient-rich seaweed hydrate and nourish. Fresh Satsuma oranges brighten up dull complexions and we’ve added a shot of brandy to cleanse and tone. Wash up with this Christmassy cleanser for luminous skin all winter long!”

“A luxuriously soft and sweetly-scented cleanser, Let The Good Times Roll is made with maize flour and corn meal to gently exfoliate, and a dash of cinnamon powder to cleanse and warm cold winter skin. Its rich, velvety texture leaves your skin perfectly balanced, glowing and smelling like sweet and salted caramel corn.”

“Black sugar and charcoal gently exfoliate and absorb excess oils to leave dull, oily and acne-prone skin with a clean, matte finish. Even oily skin can be sensitive, so we’ve made this one soft and soothing to calm redness and irritation. Antimicrobial rhassoul mud deep cleanses to help prevent breakouts while vitamin rich cold-pressed organic avocado oil nourishes skin to leave it soft and hydrated.”

“Do you remember putting calamine lotion on bug bites as a child? Aqua Marina was made with the same principle in mind; using the soothing pink extract to reduce redness and inflammation in sensitive skin. Those who have a tendency to react to citrus or strong herbal oils will find salvation in Aqua Marina’s gentle aloe vera and moisturizing nori seaweed. Especially cooling on sun burnt faces, Aqua Marina is perfect for normal to dry skin types.”

“Herbalism is best suited to those who have tried everything under the sun to clear up their oily and blemish prone skin. Here’s our fresh facial cleanser to convert you into a believer of the power of herbs! The blend of rosemary, nettle and chamomile help clear up problematic skin. Ground rice bran acts as an effective exfoliant, while kaolin clay deep cleanses pores. Use this cleanser in combination with Grease Lightning for clear, balanced skin.”

Buche de Noel and Angels on Bare Skin are next on my hit list (anybody already try it?)…
