French Connection Make A Scene Contest

Does your wardrobe need a little style-infusion boost? Feeling a little under traveled?
Lacking that “it” feeling that puts a spring in your step?

With French Connection’s new Make A Scene contest, you could win an all-expense paid trip to the Sydney Film Festival in Australia (June 5th – 16th, 2013).

Been there, done that? Runners up will be treated to $1,000 and $500 shopping sprees at their local French Connection UK boutiques (yummy).

So how do you enter?

Visit their website (starting today, March 1st) and play director/producer of your own 60 second film short (featuring a few of the lines SS13 collection pieces). I was hesitant at first (I am by no means a video editor), but can assure you it’s been made foolproof (and is actually quite addictive. I made three before I ended up with the one embedded in this post). After you’ve chosen your frames, the film’s soundtrack, and it’s title, the software configures individual reels based on everything you’ve picked (I got some cool variations from using the same scenes in different sequences). Once it’s ready and you love it, submit it and you’re entered (contest closes April 31st, 2013)!

I personally went for a film noir-esque feel with my video. I love music that automatically lends it’s paired visuals a quick sense of cool (think Ocean’s 11). I wanted my character to have found love, but with the realization of it’s uncertainty and imbalances. It’s supposed to feel a little heavier, emotional even (did it translate decently?). But enough about me, back to you…

A panel of judges in the UK will be picking the top three winners. First place will get your video seen in/on all the French Connection UK stores and websites internationally. Pretty cool, huh?
