Happy 4 Months Nolan Bug!
How have four months already flown by?
I can’t remember a world without you, and eerily, being pregnant with you feels like a memory of a vision (to think there was a time when I couldn’t take the anticipation!). You are my best friend. My inseparable. My dream come true. If only you could grasp how insanely loved you are, and by how many.
You are calm and sweet, wise and attentive. You get bored with obvious distractions, and become genuinely absorbed by things with character/complexity. We don’t see you as much of a baby – instead, just one of “us”. You fit in perfectly. You love rolling over (even though you freak out once you’re on your belly), and when you sleep I can already imagine you as a little boy. You smile through the discomfort of your emerging teeth (even when that means screaming at the same time), and get frustrated when the mechanics of bringing (and keeping) objects to your mouth don’t always work out. You’re so strong. You hold your head up like it’s nothing, and pull yourself up into standing position with only a little help from mom or dad (all the while smiling and giggling in anticipation as we count to three). Your hair is longer, and you look so dashing when we brush it and part it to the side. When I pick you up, you wrap your arms around my neck. It makes my heart melt. Every. Single. Time. You’re as happy-go-lucky as they come, and I love watching you stare mesmerized at Fantasia’s Tchaikovsky animations (the Brave Little Toaster scores a close second). Your dad and I, we couldn’t get better than you. To our beautiful baby fish – happy four months!
May we always be so blessed as to have your happy, healthy, contagious self amongst us. We love watching you grow chicken wing – you make us so proud!
